Will driving on LPG pay off?
If you drive annually only a couple of thousand kilometers, it hasn’t sense to think about changing over to LPG. But if you own an older car in good technical condition with petrol engine or a new vehicle with big motor volume and drive annually several ten thousand kilometers, certainly you should think about LPG. Economic return on investment depends on the average consumption of your vehicle and the number of driven kilometers.
Advantages of driving on LPG
1. Economic advantage:
- expenses on fueling will be reduce by ca. 50%
- vehicles on LPG, CNG and hybrid drive are free of road-traffic tax (in the Czech Republic, in force from 06.2008)
2. Ecologic advantage:
- content of toxic substances in exhaust gases is much lower than by petrol drive. LPG fulfill emission standards better that petrol.
3. Practical advantage:
- longer engine life no building of carbon deposits). Because the gas doesn’t spray and is already in gaseous state, the engine runs more regularly, is quiet and presents less wear-out
- longer service life of lubrication oil (no dissolving by petrol and no building of carbons)
- possibility of driving on petrol remains, you have only to switch the button on the equipment board, also while driving. Thanks to possibility of using both fuels, the driving distance increases expressively
- it is possible anytime to remount the equipment into another vehicle with same number of cylinders (applies only to sequential injection)
- a.extended net of LPG fuel stations (in the Czech Republic about 800 stations)
Disadvantages of driving on LPG
- Acquisition price of the alternative drive.
At first sight, this amount is not just small, but the payoff is 100% and relatively fast. Beside this you can save on fewer oil refilling and lesser engine wear.
- 1.Reducing of baggage space.
It doesn’t concern our customers, because we use toroidal tank, which is placed in place of backlog.
- Increase of vehicle weight.
- Fear of gas of some people.
It is proven that driving a vehicle on LPG is several times safer than driving on common fuels. The tank is made from steel, proof with pressure test. It wouldn’t explode even by hitting it into the fire. Multivalve on the tank stops the tanking by 80%, it is equipped with heat and pressure safety fuse, which in case of increased pressure would relieve gas outside the vehicle. Check lock valves prevent gas from escaping by a forced tube rupture. By accidental escape from joints the gas is taken away by breather pipes outside the vehicle. In case of car crash the gas supply to the carburetor is immediately interrupted after the motor fallout.
Tanking and driving are quite safe; however the mounting should be in any case conferred to an authorized and accredited company specialized on LPG!
